Hello

I am glad you are here! Please reach out with any questions you may have about therapy services in Connecticut.

My Story

Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about my therapeutic practice. I hope to be of help, either directly or in connecting you with someone who can. My name is Donna Sheehan and I am an LMFT here in Connecticut. I have always been fascinated by families and relationships. I began my first career as a family law paralegal, working for almost three decades trying to help people understand and adjust to processes of divorce, separation, relocation, custody issues, co-parenting issues and changes in their family systems and relationships. I found my way to SCSU’s Marriage and Family Therapy program in 2019, graduated in 2022, and have since been enjoying working with people, partners and families as they grow and heal. I believe I was meant to be an MFT and I am beyond grateful that I was present enough to hear the call, and willing enough to take the steps toward a second career that holds deep meaning for me.

I have training in Systemic Family Theories, Gottman Method Couples Therapy (level 2), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, CPT, and DBT. I have experience and training to help people with anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, adjustments to life/developmental stages, identity/intersectionality issues, co-parenting/blended family/relationship issues, co-dependency, personality disorders, grief, disordered alcohol and substance use, and a myriad of other difficulties faced by humans.
